Benefit Plan Design Format

AMFIHP has developed proprietary benefit plan designs with financial incentives for patients to seek medical care abroad whenever feasible. If a procedure can reasonably be performed abroad at one of our participating hospitals, the plan payment will be at 100%. If the patient does not follow the recommendation of the AMFIHP health advocate and has the surgery performed in the U.S., the payment will drop to 50%. Minor surgical procedures that cannot be cost justified for services abroad will become payable at the regular in-network percentage for services in the U.S.
